Additional Needs

We know that some patients can have difficulties in accessing dental care. We’re here to give high quality treatment and a caring, understanding approach to children and adults with additional needs.


We give routine check-ups and dental treatment to adults with additional needs, disabilities and learning difficulties in Essex.

Do you have wheelchair access?

We have ground floor surgeries with easy access for wheelchairs. We also have a specialist wheelchair recliner at our clinic at the Primary Care Centre, Colchester to assist patients with wheelchairs.


We welcome children with additional needs at all our clinics in Essex for routine dental care. Our dental teams have many years’ experience in providing care for nervous children and teenagers.

What services do you offer?

We provide dental care with:

  • Behaviour management techniques
  • Inhalation sedation
  • General anaesthesia – this is available at operating theatres in the Colchester Hospital with a full anaesthetic team

Do you accept referrals?

We accept referrals from dentists (General Dental Practitioners) and other healthcare professionals for children most in need within Essex

Learning Disabilities

We provide a caring, understanding environment for patients with learning disabilities.

We build long-term relationships with our patients and the teams at local care homes. We pride ourselves on our good communication with hospital services, social services, specialist learning disability services and special schools.
