We offer dental care with sedation for children and adults with additional needs and dental anxiety in Suffolk. This service is open to referred patients and also for those who are cared for on a longer term basis within our service.
The techniques we use include Inhalation sedation & Intravenous sedation which will help you feel more relaxed and calm. Sedation allows about 95% of individuals to have their dentistry completed successfully.
In addition we are developing an anxiety management programme based around CBT for suitable patients who are motivated to overcome their dental anxiety long term.
For treatment under sedation, you must be referred to us by your dentist, who will be responsible for providing checkups and preventative care.
We offer NHS care and normal NHS charges apply.
Your first appointment is an assessment. At this appointment, you will have the opportunity to discuss whether sedation is right for you. At this appointment we will examine your mouth and, if necessary, take xrays so that we can plan your dental treatment together. No treatment will be carried out at this appointment.
We offer a limited range of dental treatments under sedation. We offer straightforward fillings and extractions only, but do not offer sedation for root canal treatment, periodontal care (treatment of gum disease), crown and bridge or denture work. Your treatment options may be limited if you are not looking after your mouth.
Your treatment under sedation may take more than one visit. Once your treatment is completed, you will be discharged back to your dentist for your routine dental care.
Most importantly we understand that most patients can feel nervous about having sedation. Our friendly, informative team will help to relieve any stress and anxiety you may be feeling before and during your treatment.
